Malacañang on Sunday expressed its gratitude to those who worked for the passage of the Bangsamoro Organic Law (BOL).

“We cannot underplay the significance of this signing as we take comfort in this momentous step towards building the foundation of a lasting peace in Mindanao,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a statement, noting that the BOL or Republic Act No. 11054 will be signed ceremonially on Monday.

“We therefore would like to express our gratitude to all those who worked hard to enable the passage of this landmark law,” he added.

The Palace official also said the Palace recognizes though that “more work still lies ahead.”

“At the same time, we recognize that more work still lies ahead, and we thank all those who remain patient and committed to this arduous task. We look forward to working with our countrymen in Mindanao in bringing the much-needed development to the island,” he said.

Duterte signed BOL into law last July 26, two days after the House ratified the reconciled version of the bill. /je
