22 detainees bolt Bacoor jail by pushing cell gate, overpowering jail guard

SAN PEDRO CITY-Twenty-two detainees escaped from jail in Bacoor City in Cavite province on Friday afternoon.

As of 6 p.m., three have been recaptured while manhunt operations continued to find the other escapees, said Supt. Chitadel Gaoiran, spokesperson of the  Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon police.

According to Gaoiran, the detainees escaped from the Bacoor City police custodial center in Barangay (village) Talaba 4 around 4:30 p.m.

She said Jeremiah Perez, a non-uniformed police personnel, was taking the mug shots of an inmate, Angel Eusebio. Perez was about to take Eusebio back to the cell when the other detainees took their chance by pushing open the cell’s gate and overpowering the jail guard.
