Lacking ‘enthusiasm’ vs narcotics, 23 cops fired
ILOILO CITY — The Philippine National Police in Western Visayas has relieved 23 police chiefs in the region for alleged poor performance in the campaign against drugs and unlicensed guns.
The officers relieved of their duties as town police chiefs included five in Iloilo province, four each in Antique, Negros Occidental and Capiz provinces, and three each in Iloilo City and Aklan province.
The chiefs of police in Aklan relieved of their duties effective July 23 were Chief Insp. Rogelio Tomagtang Jr. (Altavas), Senior Insp. Eleazar Climacosa (Balete) and Senior Insp. Alfonso Manoba (Malinao). They will be assigned to the Iloilo provincial police office.
More sacked
In Antique, relieved were Chief Insp. Juvy Cordero (Tobias Fornier), Insp. Roger Diin (Anini-y), Senior Insp. Wennie Andico (Sebaste) and Senior Insp. Christian Mahometano (Laua-an).
They will be sent to the Capiz provincial police office.
In Capiz, relieved were Senior Insp. Bryant Fallers (Jamindan), Senior Insp. Generoso Algarne Jr. (Pilar), Senior Insp. Hancel Lumandaz (Sapian) and Insp. Tobias Garfin (Dumarao), who will be transferred to the Negros Occidental provincial police office.
In Negros Occidental, relieved were Senior Insp. Celjun Nemenio (Candoni), Senior Insp. Joevito Bose (Don Salvador Benedicto), Chief Insp. Joshua Villasis (Moises Padilla) and Chief Insp. Robert Mansueto (Sagay City). They will be transferred to the Antique provincial police office.
Lack of enthusiasm
In Iloilo City, ordered relieved were Senior Insp. Jose Val Ladublan (La Paz), Chief Insp. Juvy Navales (Mandurriao) and Senior Insp. Mary Socorro Borio (Arevalo).
They will be transferred to Antique, Bacolod City and Capiz.
The movement of officers came after an assessment made by the PNP Regional Officers’ Placement Board on the officers’ performance.
The board concluded that the officers “lack enthusiasm to accomplish the given task.”
