Sotto not worried over Duterte: ‘Si Manny Pacquiao nga nagpapa-check-up’

Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Monday said President Rodrigo Duterte’s last-minute medical check-up on Sunday night is not a cause for concern, saying that even Filipino boxing champ and Senator Manny Pacquiao goes through check-ups before his fight.

“Hindi naman siguro. Mabuti nga yung nagpapa-check up parati. Si Manny Pacquiao nga nagpapa-check-up one week before the fight eh,” Sotto told reporters at the House of Representatives when asked if he was concerned about the President’s health.

“Tama iyon,” Sotto added.

Malacañang confirmed that the President went to the Cardinal Santos Medical Center for a check-up on the eve of his third Sona.

Palace officials, however, insisted that the President was in good health.   /vvp
