LRT-1 stations flooded, PNR operations disrupted due to heavy rain

The Light Rail Manila Corporation (LRMC) management has reported flooding in some stations of the Light Rail Transit line-1 on Tuesday morning.

According to the LRMC, as of 9:30 a.m., the following LRT-1 stations were reported as flooded:

R.Papa station (knee deep)

5th Avenue station (knee deep)

Balintawak station (above gutter deep)

Bambang station (gutter deep)

Meanwhile, some trips of the Philippine National Railways (PNR) have either been stopped and canceled, also due to flooding along the Magsaysay crossing, Paco station, and Dimasalang area.

In an advisory, the PNR said that as of 9:10 a.m., the following trains bound to Alabang and Tutuban were either canceled or stopped.

The LRT-2 management meanwhile has assured its passengers that its train service remains operational despite the heavy rain.

The management of the Metro Rail Transit line 3 (MRT-3)  also announced that its operations remain normal despite the continuous downpour. /muf
