ILAGAN, Isabela — A motorcycle collided with a carabao on Sunday night, killing its back rider and injuring three other people at a city road in Aggasian village here.

Back rider Herson Dela Cruz, 28, died from severe head injuries while motorcycle driver Rodimar Domingo, 31, was hurt when they rammed into the carabao, said Senior Inspector Frances Littaua, Isabela police spokesperson.

Two unidentified farmers, who were riding the animal, were injured.

The carabao was also hurt and its owner has solicited help from local veterinarians.

Edwin Alania, Aggasian village secretary who witnessed the accident, said Domingo and Dela Cruz were driving through an unlit street and had not noticed the carabao.

Domingo recalled that Dela Cruz tried to grab the motorcycle handle when they were about to crash, “so we were thrown off the bike as it slammed into the carabao.”
