Village watchmen nab man for killing mother in Pagadian City
PAGADIAN CITY — Village watchmen arrested a 20-year-man who allegedly killed his 47-year-old mother in Barangay Banale, Pagadian City on Saturday.
Almiro Tinga was arrested during a manhunt operation a day after killing his mother, Gina Daniel Tinga, whose body was found by the river at Purok Malunggay, Barangay Banale.
The village watchmen searched the area for Almiro after the victim’s daughter on Friday saw her mother lying face down by the river, where she was washing clothes, Pagadian police investigator P01 Renji Narciso said.
Police said the river was 100 meters away from the victim’s home in Banale.
Gina’s daughter, Wellen Jane, brought food to her mother and was surprised to see her lying face down on the ground, and seemed lifeless. The daughter rushed to inform her father, Willy, who immediately proceeded to the area and found the body and a bloodied stone near the victim.
“We immediately decided to bring her to the house since it was about to rain,” Willy Tinga told the Inquirer.
