2 slain in Tarlac drug bust

BAMBAN, TARLAC – Two drug suspects were killed in a Thursday afternoon (June 29) buy-bust operation in Barangay (village) Virgen De los Remedios, police said.

Dominador Arceo, 35, and Remar Garcia, 21, rode off in a motorcycle when they realized they were dealing with undercover policemen. But they were cornered 50 meters away at a rice field and engaged the pursuing lawmen in a gunfight at 4:30 p.m. Arceo and Garcia were killed.

The police recovered five sachets of suspected shabu (crystal meth) and two caliber .38 revolvers from the slain suspects.

“Many of the suspects we arrest come from neighboring towns like Arayat and Angeles City in Pampanga province; Capas and Concepcion in Tarlac; and some towns in Nueva Ecija. We have conducted 28 operations and arrested 36 suspects since January, and this was the only time we were forced to shoot down suspects,” said Chief Insp. Joshua Gonzales, chief of the Bamban police.
