The BSP said it has not produced and issued a 10,000-Piso NGC banknote, saying only six kinds of banknotes were released in its New Generation Currency Banknote Series—P1000, P500, P200, P100, P50, and P20.

“The BSP has not produced and issued a 10,000-Piso NGC banknote,” the BSP said in its advisory late Friday night.

“The forgery of Philippine banknotes as well as the use or possessions of forged banknotes are punishable under the law,” it stressed.

The BSP also urged the public to report to the police or the National Bureau of Investigation any instance of forgery, use, or possession of the “fictitious 10,000-Piso Banknote” /jpv
