Following reports of illegal towing service, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) urged the public on Tuesday to file a report before the agency if they were towed illegally.

In a press conference, MMDA General Manager Jojo Garcia encouraged the public to file complaints and administrative cases in order for the board to have a comprehensive report regarding illegal towing services.

The MMDA earlier served an indefinite suspension order against Arrom Towing Services for alleged illegal towing services.

It said that the modus operandi of the towing company is to ask the drivers of the towed vehicles to pay a certain amount to them in Cloverleaf, Balintawak.

However, Garcia said that the proper impounding area for towed vehicles is at Tamona, Marikina.

Garcia said that out of the six drivers of the towed motorcycles, there has already been one driver who filed a “carnaping” complaint against the towing company. /je
