Isabela town police chief shot dead

MALLIG, ISABELA – This town’s 32-year-old police chief was shot dead on Sunday night (June 17) by suspected thieves.

While on patrol with a team at 11 p.m., Senior Inspector Michael Angelo Tubaña, Mallig town police chief, confronted two men spotted in the act of taking away a parked motorcycle.

One of the men pulled out a gun and shot Tubaña in the abdomen. Then the suspects fled.

Tubaña was brought to the nearest hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
