FEATURED STORIES

Powerade looks to end an alarming four-game losing streak while B-Meg seek a fifth straight victory when they face separate foes today in the 37th PBA Philippine Cup at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Tigers take on the winless Shopinas.com Clickers in the first game, while the main game will have the Llamados going up against the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.

Four straight losses have put the Tigers in a precarious situation, currently occupying the eighth spot with seven losses against only three wins.

Luckily for the Tigers, the Alaska Aces lost to the Barangay Ginebra Kings last Wednesday, 77-85 which pulled the Aces down to ninth place with a 3-8 (win-loss) card.

The Tigers are looking to create some space between Alaska and Shopinas.com, which occupy the bottom two of the standings.

The Clickers are at last place with woeful 0-11 card. The number 10 and nine squads after the eliminations will be booted out.

The Llamados and the Painters, meanwhile, try to improve their rankings with only a few games left in the eliminations.

The streaking Llamados are currently at fifth place with a 6-4 record, just slightly behind the fourth placers Meralco Bolts, who are 7-4.

Rain or Shine, loser of two straight games, is tied with the Petron Blaze Boosters at second place with similar 7-2 slates.

Moving up to second place will be crucial for the Painters as the top two teams after the eliminations will enjoy twice-to-beat edges over the number seventh and eighth teams in the playoffs.

The other pairings, which will play in a best-of-three affair, will have the number three squad against the number six while the number four seed will go up against the fifth-ranked team.
